Hi to everybody. Just joined the site and must say it looks to be most interesting and well run. One of the better ones.

I am looking to replace my existing car and have been most impressed by the value for money/specification of the new Octavia particularly the Octavia Hatchback 5 Door 1.4 TSI Elegance DSG

However, as I'm totally new to VAG products I want to ask for the help of forum members. My 2 areas of inquiring are the 1.4 TSI unit and the DSG gearbox.

So I would appreciate any comments, good or other wise on these two items and should I be considering alternatives to these.

I would also like to know of any points to be aware of when placing an oder to ensure the best deal. I have already read of the saga on the folding door mirrors and wonder if there are any more like this to take into account.
