Could be coming from the boost hoses, as these carry PCV blow by gases which has some oil vapor in it. Only other place is the oil feed and oil return lines, so check these carefully. Best way to find the leak, is clean the oil off, then start engine and inspect the area concerned. The highest point where oil appears is the source of the leak.

Worst case scenario is the actual turbo oil seals. If these have gone turbo will need rebuilt or replaced. If they leak badly, you can get a runaway engine.

runaway engine?

Happens when the engine starts burning it's own oil rather than the diesel. Engine can continue to run when switched off, and over rev as well. Only way to stop it is stick it in gear with brakes on and try to stall it.

Unless you've got a 9.3l autoboxed bus!

Hi: I've an 05 Octavia 1.9TDI 99,000 miles and it was leaking oil from underneath the turbo pipe. It can happen if you're not driving the car hard enough, not sure the correct way of it but it's oil that builds up because the turbo's not being used. I drive like a granny so can't argue. Apparently turbo diesels need to be flogged now and again to keep them breathing right. You can buy stuff to pour into the tank called Cataclean, a mechanic sold it to me but most motor factors have it. It cleans the cat, turbo, valves etc and other parts that need it. It's about £16 I used it on mine and it's fine now!

Mst likely this is what's causing it.
