Googlemail very slow with I.E. 8

Featured Replies

When I am using Microsoft Internet Explorer in my mothers laptop (also tried my desktop) logging on and reading e-mails is painfully slow, even looking at setting etc is slow. It is perfectly OK on FireFox (3.5.8). I only noticed this because she only has IE and my laptop is broken at the moment (bust power socket) and she lets me use hers.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is the problem called Micro$oft?

my gmail account is instant on ie8, no problem at all.

We also have Google toolbar, might this be also the problem?

gmail seems fine for me on IE8 running on win 7 (64bit).

Can't really see how the google toolbar could/should slow it down.

i have the little notifaction thingy in my task manager if thats what you mean?

I have IE8 at home, and gmail is fine.

I have IE7 at work, and anything google (except the search) runs like an absolute dog.
