Broken alloy, cheers council for ur shoddy road works

Featured Replies

Smashed 2 of my 19" alloys today. Council had been diggin up the road and didnt have any warning signs leading up to where they had been working. Just a sign sayin ramp half a mitre before there 3inch deep track all the way across the road. So with no warning signs i hit it at 50mph.

The result, maby damaged suspension. 2 Buckled alloys and a burst tire. Not happy

FWIW, is it the council on a 50 road?

I thought most of those sorts of roads were down to the highways agency.

Regardless you need to take photographs showing the speed limit on the road and the short notice of the sign to the overly large dip.

That way you might have something to show them with your letter.

Get photos tomorrow before they change it.

if it is the high ways agency you deffo dont stand a chance lol they really couldnt give a monkeys lol when i crashed it was dure to major failing of the highways agency but the insurance wouldnt take them on as the are funded by the goverment so to strong and have get out clauses for everthing thiese where the words of my insurance company solicitor ........

Woman my Mum works for hit a pothole last week in her Merc and needed three (!!!) new tyres and the suspension and tracking checked. Came to more than £700  She phoned the local paper who are running a story on it but they advised her to call the council who sent her some forms to fill in to get re-imbursed, part of the clause though was she had to get a photo of the pothole, well guess what as soon as she went back to find it, it's been filled in :wonder: so get photos as soon as these things happen

even a pic dont do nothing the pot hole would of had to been reported and from the point of reporting they get 5 days to sort it. if its not been sorted and damaged is caused them the claim will be paid if it hadnt been reported previous you will get nothing
