Ive just brought a 54 plate fabia vrs 50000 miles from dealer NOT special edition no optional extras on it i paid 5990 if that helps

If you can put up with the hassle, sell it privately. You'll easily get £8K for it privately, and depending on what you're shopping for with Ford, you should still get a decent discount.

Can't sell it privately as i dont have a spare few grand to clear the finance on it. I paid 8k for it last summer so 7 wouldnt be so bad.

That doesn't sound that bad. I've been sizing up replacements for my vRS SE and I wouldn't expect to get a lot more than £7K in part ex for it (although I'd love more ).
