Under warranty?

Featured Replies

Noticed a typical worn wheel bearing hum on my Dec 07 Fabia 3. It's due for a 20k service soon. Should the Skoda dealer replace any worn wheel bearing under warranty?

Definitely.

I think that MAY just class as wear and tear although you have hardly done the mileage!

Get a quote from an alternative Skoda franchisee to the one you got the car from, prior to asking them.. Then go in PERSONALLY and talk to the manager, very loudly, if need be. This may embarrass them in front of prospective buyers, into dealing with you even if it is a "goodwill gesture".

Nothing ventured!!! ;)

Wav...Welcome. Like the guys are saying, it should be covered ok by warranty. You have a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty (or is it 60,000 miles?)...assuming you have had her serviced and the book stamped up to date. Wheel bearings should go for almost ever and a day before giving trouble. The one exception is if the car has suffered damage to the bearing due to clobbering the kerb very hard...but the wheel would usually be damaged also under such circumstances. Don't forget, other things can hum too. Drive shafts, gears and diffs etc plus some electrical items.

Many thanks to these replies, I thought it was covered, just wanted another opinion.

I believe it is 2 years unlimited (from the manufacturer), 3rd year is up to 60k miles (from Skoda UK)
