I have the stalk and the wiring etc but lack the knowledge in how to wire it and all that jazz, anyone able to help me out or know how to do it and willing to sacrifice some time to give me a hand would be much appriciated i have dollar lol

cheers martinch, iv had a look through that guide, but my issue is, with having little electric experiance, im not sure i fancy undertaking the job without a bit of knowhow behind me kind of thing. also i have no clue what reflashing the ECU is and where to do it as i believe this needs to be done as well

Ah ...in that case I guess it might be worth looking for an independent VAG specialist in your area to fit it for you? Or have a look in the VAG diagnostics board - see if anyone there is your way and could give a hand for a few beers/lunch/whatever?
