Best river fords to tackle in your Yeti...

Featured Replies

One of my favourite at Clee St Margaret in Shropshire... :) as it is a long meandering drive across cobbles alongside cottages in a quaint village

In Worcestershire you can have fun at...

Any other good ones around the UK or beyond...?

Violets Lane anyone?

In all seriousness please check the wading depth for the Yeti before you start tackjling any fords that are suitbale for normal road cars. Getting water in your engine is a surefire way of getting a very expensive repair bill.

EDIT: Just checked the manual and the wading depth is basically up to the sill so not very deep at all.

Very good point BillScarab

More good advice:

Do NOT cross Fords after / in heavy rain, if fast flowing or too deep or in the dark... unless you know it is safe to do so.

Sensible advice:

Dangerous Ford crossing closed over winter:

How and When not to cross a ford:

The "Wet Roads" web site is excellent, I have posted a few on there, but be aware that a lot of them do not have vehicular access any more. You must check thoroughly first.

And Bill, no way would a Yeti do Violets Lane!!

This will be what not to try in your Yeti then!!!

Yep, should have put a smiley after it really.

I do like the wet roads site but to be honest the only ones on tehre I'd be really happy about tackling in a Yeti are the tarmac ones. Too much risk of a pot hole dropping you into deep water on the fords on Byways.
