Servicing Questions

Featured Replies

Hello,

Im due for a service soon in around 900 miles, im on variable and my car is a '56 105PD Ambiente, since my car was registered in october '06 Im due a Cambelt/Timing belt change at 4 years or 80k miles (my car has done 46k), Id like to know from you guys how much a genuine skoda timing belt kit costs and the hours of labour involved so I know if im being over charged etc..one more question...phoned up a few skoda dealers and independant registered VAT dealers to get a price on the servicing, while Skoda dealers obviously only use skoda parts, the independant dealers said they would just use VW parts, does this really matter it terms of my warranty? (I have a 3 year warranty with car plan).

Thanks for your time!!

Dave

Neither "Skoda" nor "VW" make timing belts, tensioners or the other bits you need to do the job.

Euro Car parts sell Continental belts - the make fitted to my Superb as original equipment. Why pay a mark-up to VAG?
