Teardrop Wipe

Seen it mentioned elsewhere.

What exactly is "Front & Rear Teardrop Wipe"

When you wash the screen, After the last wipe there's a 5 second delay and a final wipe occurs!

Thanks

So if you're on a winter road with spray, you clean your screen, some mucky spray comes up and then gets wiped all over the screen again so you can't see.

I turned it off, but I can understand how it might be nice in the summer months etc.

I used to have it on my old Focus and I'm so glad its not turned on on my FL Octy. It spreads salt and dirt on your window in the winter, and in the summer it spreads the dead flies around more because the window dries too fast. Only time its useful is if you wash the window when in a traffic jam... but then how difficult is it to push the wiper stalk down if you really need to get that extra wipe?!

How do you turn it off? I find it a PITA too!

I like itemoticon-0148-yes.gif

When the car was delivered it was not operating so I took it back to the dealer and got them to switch it on using their VCDS.

I had got used to it on my ST and found it useful for the drop that would come down from the top of the screen(when going slowly) or the drop that 'leaks' round the end of the wiper

What is it?

Annoying

Guess its all down to what you like i find it relly useful used to have it on my lexus and i asked the deeler to turn it on before i picked the car up have to say i havent noticed any problems with having it on so far and didnt on the lexus over a year or so of driving it

Your dealer can turn it off .I had mine turned off. I also wanted one press opening of all doors ,we are not in South Africa and going to get car- jacked!

I'm glad mine doesn't have the teardrop wipe activated, I had it on my Saab and that one was ok as it only made the extra wipe if you were at slow speed and not at high speed. If the Octy one works at both then I'm happy with it being off all the time. I think I can just about manage to flick the wiper stalk on the occasions I need to

With regards to the all door unlock, i will keep mine on drivers door only, you don't need to be in South Africa to be car-jacked. I know someone who unlocked their car and when she got in a guy had been hiding on the passenger side and jumped into the car... That was in Leeds (I've also heard reports of it happening in Birmingham and London so I assume it happens everywhere...)
