Techies Help Please..

Featured Replies

My laptop is becoming very full and after a few viruses and tweaks etc. I think its time to get a new one. So can any of you techies give me some advice on what to go for.

Current Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 7500, Pentium 3 x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 1, 451MHz, 6GB Hard Disk (with only 630MB free), 384MB RAM.

Also how much do you think I could get for my old machine ?

On a good day with the right advert you might get close to

If you like Dell, check out their factory outlet store here.......... :)

Thanks Zoidberg I have checked out Dell and noticed the high resolution on the top end machines and must admit to thinking that it might be worth looking at. I'll bear your observations in mind.

Apart from viruses and a replacement battery I've not really had any problems with the Dell so maybe I will go back to them for a replacement.

i know the top spec versions aren't cheap, and the entry levels rarely set anyones pants on fire, but IBM Thinkpads are made from pure granite in my personal and professional experience............. and the cusomter care/service experience was always uber quick and professional (ok, that T series, but no reason why it would be any less on and R or G......

What's the budget? I'd let that decide.............

If it's just the disk getting full, why not replace the disk -
