What's the EGR code? I've seen exactly this problem when an incorrect ECU was installed in a car.

[Hi

Thanks for the quick reply.

I wonder if it would be feasible to have the map on the ECU copied and removed for later reinstallation, and then have a standard map copied temporarily to your existing ECU to see if the problem is still apparent. shark_90 could advise.

I've also heard of this issue when the £100 come to your door ebay remappers load in the wrong software from the ecu.. Goes like stink on full throttle but idle is rubbish, warning lights etc...

I'll put a fiver on it running perfect with the correct software for the vehicle.

This would be possible, and probably show that the software installed is incorrect for the ecu.

Yep, as Kev said, it could be as simple as the wrong software loaded on, or it could be the wrong ECU altogether. A member on here had an ECU failure which I fixed for him, but we couldn't find another ECU identical to his without buying a brand new one, so we tried another ECU number from the same engine code which gave an EGR fault and poor idle when warm. Eventually I managed to rework an ECU with the correct software to get him running again as it should have been.
