Hello all.

Just to date myself, I am familiar with the concept of the 'last post' being played, but am not used to 'first post'. But here goes.

I am about to take possession of my first Skoda. I decided a replacement car for my diesel Renault Clio would be a good idea. I wanted something bigger and more luxurious, with the power to tow trailers for old motorbikes and sailing dinghies (not at the same time!)

Back to back test drives were organised for my four short listed cars - Volvo V50, Octavia estate, Audi A3 and Golf. The Skoda surprised me by being as good on the road as any of the other three, and much better value for money. When I have a few miles under the belt, I will report whether I still think I spent my money wisely.

Welcome, a little more info wouldn't go amiss, engine? spec?
