One week on in a new VRS CR DSG

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

Just wanted to share my first weeks ownership of my new Octavia VRS CR DSG in Candy white.I ordered the car back in October via the Skodashop website and they put me in touch with a dealer in the North Midlands who got very close to the DTD price at £19200 which included the following options Xenons,Full leather,Curtain airbags,Light assist,Maxidot, rear park sensors and full size spare and joy of joys 'Conti tyres' yipee. The car looked stunning in the bright sunshine when i arrived and i was giddy with excitement but this was some what tempered by the rather lackluster handover. However after a very brief demo of the cars controls off i went back up North in my new white steed with a stupid grin on my face.Initial impressions were of a good quality cabin ,subdued and refined engine + V torquey even at low revs.I had done some reading up on the running in process and i tried not to labour the engine even though the DSG seemed to change up the box at about 2 thousand revs and settle into D6 and maintain 70ish. I tried varying the revs on the motorway and briefly let the revs run up to 2.6k to 2.8k as this apparently helps the turbo seals bed in.So after a week i am delighted with my new car and think IMHO i picked a good spec with a cracking engine and gearbox combo. The only downsides are my right knee seems to be in constant contact with the centre console and some numbnuts in there inferior vehicles get an Anti VRS complex and want to race you at every opportunity to prove what?

Cheers!

If your right knee is in contstant contact with the centre console you're either in a LHD or you need to see a doctor!

Sounds a good price - especially with DSG. I wish I'd known about this DTD website before ordering mine. Great to hear your thoughts 1 week in. I have 550 miles to drive home after I get mine (fingers crossed for start of April) and I hope to have a big grin on my face for all of that journey

I'm 3 months and 5000 miles into ownership now and still got the stupid grin. You may have to learn to live with it! emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Expecting to grin all the 425 miles North when I pick mine up next Wednesday morning as soon as the dealers open!
