"Single Door Opening" function

Featured Replies

My Yeti "S" has come set up with the 'single door opeing' function enabled (i.e. you blip the key to unlock and only the drivers door unlocks - you have to blip it twice to open all the doors).

Has my car been set-up correctly (surely all doors should unlock with one blip as a normal set-up)?

And, how can I change it so that all doors unlock with one blip, not just the drivers door? Will this mean a trip back to the dealer? (I don't have maxi dot on my "S")?

if you want it set to all doors then the dealer has to do it if you dont have maxidot. I believe they are supplied with the 2 blips to unlock all option, certainly my old octavia was.

The idea id for additional security and protection against car jacking. Had the same on the X-Trail (could not be overridden) you soon get used to the double blip on the keyfob.

SE and above:- this can be changed on the Maxidot.

That's how it's set up on my current Octavia as well. It's never bothered me, I think the Peugeots I had before the Octavia were the same as well.

It is common to most VW group cars.

We have this on my Passat and my wife's M-B A Class, both of which also have drive away door locking where all the doors lock when you go faster than about 10 mph.

You don't want any scally jumping in the car or opening the boot at traffic lights!

It is actually common to a lot of cars now, not just VAG.

MY YETI GOT SET UP WHEN IT WAS BEING PREPARED FOR ME BY THE TECHNICIAN,SO THAT ONE BLIP UNLOCKS ALL THE DOORS,WHICH IS A LOT MORE CONVENIANT, ALSO THERE WAS ANOPTION FOR THE DOORS TO AUTO LOCK AT @10MPH

Sorry, I'm a bit ignorant but what is a 'Maxidot?

It is a display that sits between the rev counter and the speedo. It is the interface to a number of options (depending on spec and country) such as door control, window control, mirror options, headlights and so on. It also feeds back info on fuel consumption, sat nav and audio, again, and so on.
