Replacement Aerial

Featured Replies

Some a...hole decided to 'remove' the aerial from my Octavia;the one that is supposed to be theft-proof and which the angle can be lowered (pre car wash I presume).

So the base is ruined also after the toe rag wrenched the mast out,

Skoda will charge limbs for a replacement as we know.Any suggestions;wouldn't mind a sharks fin which would be ****** proof.

Cheers.D.

That sucks - use the search tool someone posted recently a link to ebay selling OEM VW Sharan stubby aerial, if you want a sharkfin you will probably have to drop the headliner which you may or may not want to consider but they are also available on ebay.

I posted the ebay link - just search for "OEM sharan aerial" and you'll find what you want.

Since I posted that, I've managed to retrieve the old mast off my GTI - its a slightly different profile than the one I got from ebay and fits the base better. Bought a couple of yrs ago from these guys in the states, cost a little more than the ebay ones but a nicer fit:

.. which means i have a spare ebay stubby if you're interested?

I bought the same aerial, the thread is slightly too long and thus it sits a little proud. Ive put an o-ring between the two to stop water getting in and all seems fine. (ebay one that is)

At USD34,99 = £24 approx, which is ridiculous when you can the same thing from Halfords for around £12-15 & Ebay for a 10'er!

Do an Ebay search using "stubby car aerial" sans quotes.

If anyone else is interested I've got one to sell as well.

It fits and works fine, I just didn't like the appearance of it on the car so have gone back to the original (despite it twanging on my garage door every day!).
