Lost & Found

Featured Replies

As some of the older members may remember I had this rather annoying problem on some roads where the pedals would feedback the bumps, Skoda had it in several times to try to find it, for ages I suspected engine mounts and shocks and even the brake discs/calipers/pads, them a window of opp opened recently, I was able to replicate it at will courtesy of the damaged road surface, I then found it didn't happen until the rear wheel had passed over the pothole, so under I went to investigate, still I could find nothing, until it dawned on me when I bought the car the boot wouldn't open properly due to a seized strut, these were replaced some 4 mths later when they would no longer hold the boot open, typical Skoda dealer that cleans a dying strut rather than pay £15 for a new one, I noticed the boot bolts had broken paint on them where the mechanic must've undone them to free the boot, so I wind the bump stops down a few turns and hey presto the feedback is gone.

So, floppy pedal is gone, and fault was found, so if you ever have the back repaired and you experience a similar feeling under your foot, you know where to look now eh.

It's a good feeling when you get to the bottom of a problem :)
