New Seats

Featured Replies

So, I must be getting fat, because when I went round a corner yesterday one of the bolts on the bottom of my drivers seat snapped, putting the seat at an angle which rubs against the centre console, and making me unable to use the runners on the bottom of the chair, Although I could probably get it fixed I've managed to get a good deal on a full superb leather interior, what I'd like to know is would it be possible to fit the interior from the Elegance into my Classic Superb? It also has heated seats ( front and rear ) and memory seats. Please let me know ASAP, Thanks guys

anybody know?

Physically you can get them to fit but you won't have the functionality of the heated or electric seats I am afraid............

You will not have the two heated seat switches on the dashboard, which I know are around £40 each from your friendly stealer, around your stereo and also not have the wiring loom for these and the electric seat movement................ :S

I can live without the heated seats, ( Have looked it up would be about £160 including the wiring loom! ) Would I still be able to adjust the drivers seat without the electric functionality?

Hello,

could you tell, where and for how much didi you find this interior deal? I tried to look up on the internet, but since I live in Finland, it's next to impossible to find it here, Superb I is quite a rarity here. So, any info on updating the Superb's interior would be greatly appreciated

I think you would also need a controller for the seats.....

Don't think so mate, the whole seats movement would be electric and therefore if you have no power your stuffed, you may be able to roll the seat back on the runners but not owning an Elegance spec I am not 100% sure..........

Can't see how you could - the only manual adjustment is for the lumbar support, everything else is electric - so not sure you could even get the drivers seat fitted 'in the correct position' initially, given that it wouldn't move afterwards. :'(

If you've actually bought it and it's the optional full nappa leather, then I guess the only options are to hope someone with an Elegance without the full nappa leather fancies it, but doubt they'd pay too much - or if someone's front seats have failed (iirc there was a post on here a while ago about failed heating elements...)

There again, maybe there is indeed a manual solution - fit the rear seat (folding or fixed?) and remove the leather covers from the front seats and fit to your seats? There again, are front seats in the Classic a different shape to Elegance seats? Ahh - just remembered what you really want is a driver's seat!! :S

good luck

ps - does the interior include the complete door cards?

Now I know nothing at all about this, but can you not just provide some sort of electrical feed from elsewhere to power the seat so you can move it? Surerly its no differnt to running a power feed for an Amp or similair device?

Yes, shoot me with **** if im talking complete horlicks :)

sorry - duplicated post deleted (pc on go-slow)

Is it possible to actually delete a post completely?

Think you have to PM a Mod mate and get them to delete it..............

Your more than likely quite right mate, worth the risk if the interior has been sourced on the cheap maybe..........

I don't think it will be that easy, it is a superb we are talking about, the seats have a memory function linked to the remote so could be canbus controlled. Only a thought hope I am talking horlicks.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies guys, I've bought the entire interior ( all seats, door cards, armrest ) for £300 off ebay , so it's quite a bargain, I haven't paid for it yet because the seller is quite slow on replying, I'm having second thoughts now, so I may try and cut a deal with him and pay him his seller fees and offer him about £70 for all the door cards, and the armrest ( mine being an ex-taxi they're all qutie scruffy ) It's a shame it would be such a hassle getting the seats to work.

I can't see it being that hard to get power to the seats, power and earth are all you need. Get hold of a copy of Elsa.

You'll not the memory function working without a lot of work but just powering the motors should be easy enough.

Yes Ian it is exactly that simple, just run a couple of +ve heavy duty cables that are ignition fed to the seats (fused of course) and an earth for each seat.

I did exactly this when i had the electric Audi S6 front electric seats fitted to my Superb.

as has previously been mentioned you will of course loose the memory function.

Hi Guys,

Managed to get the guy to chuck in the wiring for the power seats, so I'm going ahead with it, he's also going to deliver straight to my door for free! Therefore I think £300 is worth a go on this, considering it'll be much nicer inside and will help the resale value.

Wont be getting it til early April so will put some pics up when its done, and no doubt you'll be hearing from me with my problems while installing it!

Josh

Looking forward to seeing how this install turns out

Yep, look forward to it also.........

Hi josh it is possible as mentioned above by wiring a power source directly to the battery. The connectors on the wiring loom are different for the elegance and comfort models.A sparky connected mine up for 20 pounds and they work fine.I managed to get a hold of my interior for 120 pounds from a breaker but that was minus the door cards. The only other problem i encountered was the rear upright as the seats were from an 03 model (no split) and mine is an 04 with a split - as a trim shop wanted 300 to convert i just removed the skin and it now sits on like a seat cover!.This was a very welcome addition as my seats were beginning to look a bit worn and i still get a lot of comments from customers on how it looks(taxi) Good luck with the conversionmate!:) :)

I know this is an old thread but did the guy manage to fit the heated leather into his car?
