I pick up my new Octavia vRS TDI Hatchback in Race Blue - 56 plate with 25,000 miles on the clock. Can't wait!

My recent car history:

2002-2005 - MG ZS 180 - the most fun and fastest car I've ever had - fast and fantastic handling

2005-2009 - Mazda 6 Sport - better built but a bit boring and slower - good handling - had to get rid because I blew up the engine at 75,000 miles by not checking the oil every 5 minutes (a long and painful story)

2009-now - Ford Mondeo TDCI Zetec S - far more fun with great handling but slower than the MG and a bit dull - trading in becasue I'm afraid of escalating maintenance costs with 97,000 miles on the clock

Tomorrow - Skoda Octavia vRS TDI - feels like going back to the days of the MG ZS in terms of driving fun, speed and handling - but probably a better car all round. I expect/hope to really enjoy this car - time will tell

I do 30,000 miles a year - mostly on the M6 between J16 and J19.

Any thoughts?

Haven't seen another Octavia vRS all week since agreeing to buy mine on Monday - then on the way back from picking it up followed an identical one along the road for a few miles!

But they are nowhere near as common as the old Mondeo.
