Featured Replies

I was in my local ASDA the other day and they were selling 5L of Mobile 1 ESP oil for £35 - its the best price I've seem VW 504 spec oil for.

Does anyone know of any better deals?

that's not bad.

assuming it's 4L, you can get 5 of halfords, millers or quantum for about the same price.

Pretty sure it was for 5L.

Must be the best deal around at the moment I reckon  . I just paid 39+vat for Quantum from my dealer. Bought the same oil from them less than a year ago and it was £36+vat :( .

I got 5 litres of Quantum 5W30 from the ebay shop of a Skoda dealer ( number1forskoda on ebay which I believe is Rainworth Skoda). It was £35.99 all in including delivery.

Wow, good tip muckipup. Yes, it's rainworth. They're doing 4x5 litres for £114.99 delivered too. £28.75 inc VAT per 5 litre container. That's fantastic.

wega, you might want to check your maths on that one? Its £28.75 for 5 litres not 1 litre.

I've just had a service on my Octy vRS.

They charged me £48.16 for 4.6L of oil - however they did give me a free 1L top-up bottle.

They did use Shell Helix, but still a good £10 more expensive than if I'd bought the oil myself by the looks of things.

you know what I meant :)

Pretty sure it was for 5L.

That oil comes in a 4L package, so unless they gave you a 1L pack free, or it's a special pack I'd say it's 4.

It is worth checking because there is nothing worse than doing a service only to find you're short on the oil by more than enough to get it above the min mark.

Evidently not - Halfords sell it in 5L quantities (more expensive though):

5L Mobile 1 ESP at Halfords
