Condensation on windscreen

Featured Replies

I got my 170 elegance DSG in December. I have found that in the mornings there is a lot of condensation on the inside of the windscreen. I know it's a time of year thing, but I've never had a car that had this much condensation.

So I am wondering if it's just me or a Superb thing, does anyone else think the amount of condensation is excessive and a problem?

Hi

i also have a 170dsg and have to say that i haven't noticed the condensation on the inside of the windows...do you put the climate control on as that should clear it quickly. I always leave my climate on the 'auto' setting so when i get in the windows clear pretty quick. May be worth a try.

The trouble is this is more than the usual misting up that the climate control can take care of. This is water that needs wiping off with a cloth.

I have had that in the past. Check you've not got any damp clothes, cloths or carpets in the car. The classic mistake is to wipe the moisture off with a cloth and leave it in the car only for the moisture to slowly evaporate into water vapour during the day, then recondense back on the windscreen again at night. :D

It could be that you have water getting in somewhere and overnight it forms on the windscreen. I have the mark1 and my window was soaked every morning until I sorted the water ingress problem at the scuttle and cleared the pollen filter. After that, my windscreen was fine every day.

Thanks, it could well be, I'll have to investigate that further.
