Differences between a 2002 and 2005 vRS

Featured Replies

Hi.

After crashing my 2005 vRS (Gutted, BTW), I have found a mint condition 2002 vRS and put the deposit down on it.

I was just wondering if there are any differences between a 2002 and a 2005 model?

Does the 2002 one has 6 gears? I seem to recall from somewhere that cars up to 2003 had one. My old (newer) vRS only had 5.

Also, the speaker grilles have a little chrome badge on them, where as the 2005 one did not.

They're both MK1's by the way

I'm 99.999% sure that all the mk1 vRS cars had 5 speeders only fitted to them. Maybe you're thinking of the Fabia vRS which has 6 cogs?

The rear wiper is different.

Maybe, it would make sense as the fabia is a derv.

I noticed that. You just reminded me lol

The boot lock is blanked on the later models. Apparently some of the software on the very last Mk1s was in some way different. I was told this my the bloke who did my first remap. Other than that they're the same I think...

I have a feeling the roof lining was darker on the later ones, but engine gearbox are the same.

Different rear washer jet too.

The little chrome badges on the speakers that say "soundsystem" should be on all VRS's but they tend to fall off easily!

Mine never had those on and I've had the car from new!
