Door control unit

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me how to get the central locking door control unit (drivers door), out? One of the pins has snapped off preventing the drivers door from opening using the remote key fob. Can I just replace the unit with another ? The part ref is shown as IU 6959802D.

It comes out attached to the window regulator. Once the regulator is out you'll be able to get at the fixing screws. Be careful to ensure that the regulator cable doesn't come out of its spool. That part number is incomplete it should begin 1U0 and after the D there will be a 3 digit colour code. If you are replacing it, you must use exactly the same part number, there is often a paper sticker on the motor with the part number on it.

Kev I have this problem, but I have 4 missing pins, and the female block connector does not look to good either.

Just rang Skoda, £470 approx for them to fix.

It can stay as it is
