Thats very good for a heavy car with a small engine, I always thought that the official figure seemed pessimistic!

That's a second faster than the quoted time. Very good news.

In the Netherlands a Yeti 1.2 TSI with standard engine has been tested with results:

85 KW ( 77 according to the manufactor)

186 Nm (175 according to manufactor)

It seems the engine is slightly more powerfull.

I was very impressed by the 1.2TSI after driving the Yeti. As a comparison the 2.0 engine in my MX5 produces a quoted 188 Nm.

Volkswagen group have a policy (well certainly where VW are concerned and I'm guessing Skoda) of providing performance figures for a car with a half load. I guess that some magazines will test with one person on board and lower fuel levels, nevertheless this is exceptional performance for this size of engine. I have often seen examples of VW group engines having been tested for power output and producing higher output than quoted. All good stuffemoticon-0148-yes.gif
