Shark Fins

Featured Replies

In anticipation of my new VRS im looking to get a shark fin to replace the standard antenna, i dont much fancy pulling the roof lining down as i have a habit of breaking everything i take apart, also i would like it to be painted the same colour as the car, so having a search on the net i found this company, i also really like the kind of slicked back longer sharkfin look, has anyone come across these guys before and if so what were there experiences of them and their product?

On the ordering page I don't see Skoda listed so unless you know of another make of car that uses the same paint you might have problems matching the colour.

And $69 (USD) plus $18 shipping adds up to more that £56 which seems quite expensive!

I like that!

TBH i'm happy with my stubby, but i am very tempted.. can someone else try it out first and confirm that its rubbish/doesn't work so I can stop thinking about doing this mod :p

Just buy the proper VAG one. Yes you need to lower the headlining, but its relatively straight forward. Then relax in the knowledge that radio reception will remain unaffected, which is not the case with some of these aftermarket aerials, and the cost will be a lot less than the first post especially as you'll have to pay VAT and import duty.

I bought the poper VAG Shark Fin and the Reception is cr@p

I am going to see if the Skoda Superb one is any better otherwise i will be buying a rear screen Antenna to boost the reception.

i like the fact its painted, plus i basically never listen to the radio, i am very tempted.

It only takes ten minutes to tuck a wire under the trims back to the fusebox, they dont even need removing as you can just push the wire under it. I did just that when I fitted a DAB aerial to mine.
