MAP SENSOR ON MY FABIA 1.4 2002 CLASSIC? PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Can anyone help me please - i need to get my MAP Sensor changed and needed some information on how to do this.

I have a Fabia 1.4 16 valve 2002 classic model.

A few questions that sprung to mind are:

1. Where exactly is it? i read it is on the intake manifold, but haven't got this confirmed.

2. How is it fixed? Is it bayonet fittings, torx screws or something else

3. How exactly do you remove it?

4. Does the inlet manifold need to be taken out to change the MAP sensor?

5. Has anyone done this before who could give an idea how complex a process it is?

Any help would be much appreciated. Have had a nightmare this morning with my local Skoda dealers ordering parts that bear no resemblance to what i asked them to order...... (How an EVAP valve has anything to do with the MAP sensor i asked for, i don't know!)

I have had fault codes P0101 and P0172 crop up recently - my engine management light keeps coming on at sporadic intervals and the car stalls every so often.

MAP sensor change is the first step to hopefully fixing the problem.

This might help

The MAP sensor is No.9. The 2 bolts that hold it on are listed as allen key bolts, but could well be torx. If its anything like the MAP sensors on the diesels once the bolts are out its just a push fit into the manifold. You shouldn't have to take the manifold off to change it. HTH
