Stainless steel foot pedal covers?

Featured Replies

Ordered my Yeti 4x4 170 TDI with "Stainless steel foot pedal covers".

Would not it be nice with a stainless steel "footrest", too.On our Octavia -07 I installed a stainless steel "footrest" from the Golf V GTi.

"Footrest" to the Golf V GTi fits perfect on Octavia II RS (1K1 864 551 TKH)Same dimensions on both cars.

Perhaps there is a stainless steel foot rests on another VAG car with the same dimension as Yeti

Eh, don't they get covered in crud, just like the standard rubber ones?

Oh, and the stock Yeti rubber mats are a much better fit :wonder:

I do not mean to be critical, just our usual ethnic dose of scepticism.

If you actually want a set then the part number is (5L1 064 200)

I have a VW EOS and I had it ordered with the stainless steel pedals.

The footrest was plastic though.

I replaced it with a stainless steel one that would fit the Golf V and the Jetta.

Well, guess what. The part number for the EOS plastic footrest that I replaced is identical to the one fitted on my Yeti according to ETKA!

I also compared the two parts by sight.

I just ordered the footrest from my VW Dealer, and I should have it by Wednesday!

I asked for the exact same part that installed in my EOS (colors match too!) The parts guy told me that the part number has been replaced. (probably a supplier change)

I will post pics after I install it!

I will also provide you with the correct part number!

So, you want a stainless steel footrest (a.k.a. dead pedal) for your little monster?

Like I promised, the part number is 1K1 864 551 SUB. (this one is in satin black and it comes in other colors too)

Contact your local VW parts department for prices and ordering.

Here it is just after I installed it in my 1.2 TSI DSG 7 Yeti.

I am still waiting for the stainless steel pedals from the Skoda dealership. They had to order from CZ.

You can now call me GT SPEED (go to Speedster!)

Thanks. Was it difficult to mount?

Not really!

You have to pull the hood release handle and at the same time you can use a flat nose screwdriver to pull the plastic secure pin.

You then remove the handle and the screw that is hidden behind it.

You can then pull the plastic side trim out (not entirely, just enough to make room for your hand to unscrew. Make sure you clear the footrest hold channel and the plastic trim under the console.

Remove the screw that holds the footrest and replace it with the new stainless steel one.

You finish up in the reverse order!

One last tip. In order to reattach the hood release handle, first put the plastic pin in place (in the handle), and then push the handle in place, making sure it is aligned correctly (only one way to insert it anyway). You will hear a click, and you are ready! Make sure the handle is fully operational and also that the side trim is correctly clipped in to place!

Hello all, my first post.

I have ordered a Yeti which I am collecting tomorrow!

I have purchased the Stainless Steel Manual Set - Part Number

The brake pedal and clutch pedal look very easy to fit, but the instructions say you should refer to the ELSA to fit the accelerator pedal. Does anyone know what this is and what the ELSA says?

Any help would be gratefully received.

Kind regards

Hi there and welcome! (newbie here too :D )

This could explain a lot. Shows how to do it in Seat (it - meaning fitting the covers) which is supposed to be very similar to other VAG cars.

The accelerator cover comes as a complete new pedal. It will say refer to ELSA for the special tool required to release the bottom of the pedal from the floor.

Thanks both, so it looks like if you need a special tool then this can't be done yourself?

Just as a matter of interest are there any benefits, apart from looks, to having stainless steel pedals?

Thanks both, so it looks like if you need a special tool then this can't be done yourself?

The tool stops breaking the clips on the bottom of the pedal, but as your replacing it anyhow it doesn't really matter.
