Using pressure washers?

Featured Replies

I have got a small pressure washer which i was going to use to clean the crud off prior to washing (so any grit etc is removed) and also do my alloys and under the car and arches. If i use it on the paintwork from a distance is this safe? And will it remove wax/Jewelultra? Thanks

Mine has a variable lance - when I use it on the paintwork I never use the narrow jet but set it so it has a spread of say 2" ( 5cm ) this seems to remove the muck without removing the paint :) The narrower settings are good for removing dirt from the nooks and crannies of the alloy wheels , I find the alloys just as difficult to keep clean as the black paint.

Edit - I have been using NXT wax - and the washing does not seem to have removed it.

Jet wash is a god send in my opinion. Use it to get the thick of the crud off, and give it a good blast underneath too, to remove all the salty deposits at this time of the year. Excellent for the alloys too.

Shouldn't remove the polish unless you use soap I'd have thought.

I use the Zymol car wash - natural product - mild - and only 1/2 a cap full per bucket !
