07 Fabia VRS...

Featured Replies

Please tell me if my wife's Fabia VRS can have the anti-hijack locking & turn light option initiated via the Skoda laptop at the dealers?

Thanks,

TDM

P.S What a fantastic little mover this car is!! It makes a pleasent change from my 57 Octavia Scout...but not for too long..!!

Yeah, should be able to to the locks.. mines got it enabled and it's an 04 plate.

what exactly do you mean by turn lights though, the 3 click soft flick feature.. that's on mine too.

I got an 07 plate vRS and it's got the anti-hijack lock feature - the dealer will be able to enable it. What do you mean by turn light option though?

Thanks Guys.

What I'm hoping is that the dealer can activate/initiate the front fog lights to allow one to illuminate when turning a corner at low speed on this Fabia.

What other functions are available for activation...? I've had the anti-hijack lock program activated on the Scout & now wonder if the turn lamp program is avilable

for this car also.....? How do I find out what hidden features there are...?

TDM.

What actually is anti hijack!?

OMG! lol, I've seen a few new shape E-Class Mercs with one fog light on and just assumed that they were all faulty, lol.. it must come with this feature? It's a new one on me though...

Don;t think the Fabia has the facility to do this though i'm afraid.

As well as anti hi-jack you can have it so the car will unlock just the drivers door on one click, and then all the others with a 2nd.. nice when in empty car parks or leaving work late.

you can also get the car to bleep when locking and un-locking, or just one or the other.

The car locks it's self once 10mph has been reached. Perfectly safe as it'll unlock it's self if it senses an accident.

Thought it was, this is already enabled on mine.

What other options are there?

Is it possible to get total closure, to make the windows go up when the car's locked?

Cornering lights are available on the Fabia Mk2 (not sure if its only on the brand new 2010 FL), Octavia Mk2, Superb II and the Yeti, but not the Mk1 Fabia. The only thing that it does do is leave one side and rear light on if you park up with the indicator down.

As for Anti-hijack and other features, I'm sure if you talk to a friendly Briskodian near you who has VAG-COM on his Laptop/netbook will be able to sort you out, in exchange for a few  . If not it's a trip to the dealers. I had the auto door locking feature disabled by them because it annoyed me. It also means you have to pull the door handle twice to get out.

To shut the windows (front electric ones only, of course) when you out of the car, put the key in the door lock and keep it twisted, the windows should then close. It's mentioned in the owners manual.

This doesn't do something though, does it? it either doesn't set the alarm or activate the dead locks.. but maybe I misunderstood the manual?

There is some kind of chip flasher code adjuster thingy you can buy for VAG cars of the Fabia era that will make windows go up and down etc from the key fob, but you'll have to google or search on here as I have no idea what it was called.

Sorry, this was all a bit vague wasn't it.

Doesn't seem to deactivate the alarm either (on a Polo, so assume Fabias are the same) so if you roll the windows down before getting in, then open the door the alarm goes off. Embarrassing to say the least!

And no, it will just the lock the car I think, no alarm or deadlocks. But of course, you could just relock it with the fob afterwards. . .

I had a Dodgey Stomach a few weeks back & almost had an accident :D The Car did not unlock itself !! Perhaps i'll just not tense up next time & let it happen :giggle:

As well as locking the doors at 10mph, it can be programmed to unlock the doors when the key is removed from the ignition.

Another option is to fit an aftermarket alarm.

After a break in to Mrs Grrs SDI we had a Toad alarm fitted to it.

She only had the factory fit immobiliser originally so when the scum broke in

We didn't hear a thing... :(

The Toad has all the anti hijack and closure options built in.

Its pricey at around 300 quid but at least you can qualify for Thatcham 1 insurance premiums.

Just a suggestion. HTH :)
