bolero stereo

Featured Replies

I have a problem with my stereo, sometimes it will not come on when the car is started, no matter what buttons are pressed. At that point I give up and decide to drive in silence, then it springs into life all of its own accord. However this is very much an intermitant problem, and typically when I took it to skoda, the journey to the garage - no stereo, as soon as the guy came out - you guessed it, it was working fine, just to make me look stupid!! Just wondered if anyone else has had any similar experiences, by the way, new to all this so hi!!

It can only be one of two basic problems. Either the Bolero is getting intermittent power (there is a bad connection somewhere) or it's faulty.

Either way it is covered by warranty so if your car is under warranty just take it back and insist that they fix it.

You don't say how long you have had the car.

I find the 'mute'.on/off function confusing (wait till you get to my age).

If you just press it, it doesn't actually turn off, if you press and hold it does. Then when you get back in, was it on mute or actually off?

It's my own fault. I usually use the CD player for entertainment, but hate stopping mid track, so tend to wait till the end of a track as I approach my destination, dab the mute - then forget to dab again when I leave - then wonder why it's so quiet.

Just a thought.

Thanks for your thoughts but the only buttons I ever use are to change from radio to CD, when the problem happens the screen doesnt light up either, so back to skoda to hopefully get it sorted
