Hi All, I have ordered my car with the MDI interface, but i noticed last night that it requires additional leads :S Is this correct or will I be able to just plug my ipod straight in? or am I going to have to twist the dealers arm for a free lead?

I too have ordered the MDI and yes you do have to buy an additional cable from Skoda. I think there are a few variants depending on what MP3 player you have with IPOD being the most expensive. I have seen some on fleabay but not sure of qaulity.

I think if you look in the options list you'll find that the ipod/USB/mini USB connectors are separate from the MDI lead itself, so you'll be relying on the good nature of your dealer if they give it away

Yes you need to buy the lead, it comes standard with the New GTI so i took my one with me when i sold my MK6 and got my Vrs.

Its the same lead used in VW, Seat , Audi so if you get hold one any of those it will work fine.

Hi Spoke to the dealer today, he has ordered it so it's there for me saturday, I've told him to hide it in the glove box will see what he says on saturday.

Just don't bother with the USB cable for a hard drive as you'll get the MIX function problem.
