Can the Bootlid panel gap be adjusted?

Featured Replies

My Bootlid doesn't sit flush enough to the rest of the car when it's shut.

So when you look at the car from the side, u'll see the boot lid gap looks 'almost' like it's not shut fully...

I first adjusted both black rubber bungs at the corners of the bootlid, but then I realised that it's not those that are causing the problem (you can still SEE there is a gap and movement between the bung and the bodywork when the boot's shut)

So my question is - Can you adjust the boot lock catch somehow?

Or is it 100% fixed solid?

If you pull the plastic trim off that surrounds the striker plate it will reveal 2 spline bolts, I think they're M8. Loosen, adjust, tighten. Be careful, if you do it too tight the 'boot open' light will stay on. As well as the rubber bungs there are rubbery wedges halfway up the tailgate that are also adjustable.

This is interesting as mines always been a little wonky.. nice and flush on the passenger side but a little proud on the drivers.. Hmmm will have to look into this one weekend! :D
