VAT offer

Featured Replies

For those out there that are looking to take advantage of the VAT free offer, i was told today by a dealer that the offer will be extended for another quarter, no suprise really as its not the first time its been extended. However i visted a seperate dealer later in the day who "claimed" to know nothing about this, and he would only be told if it was being extended on the last day of the month. I tend to believe the first dealer personally.

Just for the info of anyone out there thinking of buying by the end of the month to take advantage of the current offers, but oblivously check for yourselves just in case things change.

Thanks for the info. I am personally not going to take the risk and will be visiting the dealer tomorrow to place the order. Its already going to take around 16 weeks :(

Just need to decide if i want Xenons and/or Bluetooth. I doubt i will get them as part of the deal as i have got him down to £17500 including parking sensors, met paint, spare wheel, mats, and private plate transfer.

In my opinion there will always be deals available. If it's not called "VAT free" it will be something else. Skoda (and other manufacturers) know that if the price of a car goes up overnight by say £2000 when VAT free ends, sales will completely dry up. I see Skoda are now offering a happy swapping scheme where they will give you £2000 off if your car is at least seven years old. I'd be surprised if they didn't offer me the same amount if I went to trade in my two year old car.

There is an argument that it may be best to wait until this offer does finish. At the moment dealers can say "I can't offer you anymore than the VAT free deal", to try and avoid the customer haggling.

Can you combine the no VAT offer with the Happy Swapping Scheme?

Edit: 'Not available in conjunction with any other offer.' :(

Here's hoping they extend the vat-free offer, as I'll be looking to buy a new Scout next month.

I was looking at year old cars, but a lot of dealers are pricing them higher than new with the vat offer

out of interest, which dealer was it that hinted at the offer being extended?

Any news from Skoda on the deal for this quarter? eg extending the VAT discount.

Cheers

Yep, extended to the end of June (see the offers section on skoda.co.uk). It does look like they have increased the cost of finance slightly however.

VAT offer extanded until the end of June

0% deals remain unchanged

PCP deals remain unchanged

1.5% flat changes to 2.25% flat (still a good deal)

I am the business manager in John Mulholland Motor Group (Skoda) in N Ireland if any of you have any questions regarding the finance.

For various reasons, I am likely to place an order for a new Octavia at the end of June to tie in with the promo finishing.

I realise the car will take 3 months+ to arrive at the dealers, I presume if I place the order end June I will reserve the finance deal at 2.25% no matter when the car arrives.

Cheers.

Quarter 2 campaigns is 2.25% flat and states that the final payout date/delivery date is 31 July 2010
