Newby needing advice on octavia 03 elegance 1.9 tdi

Featured Replies

Hi. My brother suggested I see what people think on this car I have seen, octavia 03 plate. 1.9 tdi, (8v, 110hp) 54,000. Great condition. garage wants 3995 for it and they will service it and do cam belt change.

I have two questions;

1)Is this a good price?

2)what would be a realistic amount to knock off if i did the cambelt myself (via my local garage)

thanks

Thats low miles for a 7 year old car , and diesel . So dealer knows he can get a good price , is he going to give a warrenty if he does the service / Time belt . A must do on car this age as its 4 years or 60k miles recpmended .

Hi and welcome to the site.

TBH the price sounds a little heavy as I have seen VRS's for that sort of price. However mileage seems good. Cambelt change is worth about £225 ish and service isn't that expensive on that model! You should think about posting this question in the Octavia mk1 section and you will get more responses, this section of the forum is merely for saying hi!
