Replacing Fabia Clutch

Featured Replies

Hello All,

Clutch release bearing went in my 2002 Fabia 1.9 Sdi Classic.

Having replaced a few clutches in other makes and being quoted £800 from a garage I thought I'd take it on. Clutch kit ordered from Jorily (Very prompt delivery -cheers) and car now jacked up in deepest Somerset.

Problems:

1. "Unbolt the driveshafts from the gearbox drive flanges" - Uses 12 point spine bolts. I figure about 7mm. Where can I order a set of 12 point bits in the UK that will work for this? Have googled about but keet finding socket sets not bits. (I think there sometimes called square bits and are like the Torx star bits but with 12 instead of 6)

2. Managed to snap the white plastic sliding shoe - part of the gear change cable components. Anyone know where I can get a replacent? Here is a photo: kecfgi.jpg

3. Anyone know where I can get a new Drive Shaft Hub nut when I finally get to the reassembly point!!!

Any help would be appreciated. I'ver had to admit defeat this weekend - can't do much until I undo them pesky bolts.

Cheers,

Jon.
