Coolant warning light and problems with my Fabia

Featured Replies

Hello, first of all I'm new to this site and my English isn't perfect, so pardon me for my mistakes.

I have Skoda Fabia 2001 16V 74kW Comfort mpi.

Problems:

- Coolant warning light always comes ON when I start the car, and it makes a sound. Tempereture is still ok and I've changed the both sensors (from and to) from the coolant liquid tank. And the coolant liquid is in normal amount and has been changed last summer. I bought and OBD -reader, and it gave one error code.

--> Engine Coolant Temperature Circiut.Range/Performance Problem.

So will this problem and warning light come off, if I change the ETC sensor?

Another problem is with the sensor, because I asked for the part from the store, and they said there are two kinds of ETC sensors for my car... with different sockets ...Is it possible and how do I know which to buy?

- Another problem, when I make a cold start at winter here in Finland (-5 celcius and colder), there car starts fine, but when I even touch the the throttle pedal, the car will go off. Then it again starts fine, and when I play with the the throttle pedal, I finally get to keep it going. This problem won't occur with warmer weather, but the car is also then a bit difficult to keep ON, right after start, and you have to give a fair amount of rounds to move the car with lower shifts.

Can this problem also relate to ETC sensor?

- 3rd problem is the steering advise, which can come off, on really moist weather, and usually the headlights flash when I turn the wheel, espicially much when it poors rain.

This can't be ETC problem anymore?

Thank you really much beforehand, if anyone could help me.

had a similar problem with ,my coolant system. Mine had more holes in that the typical english road.

So what do I have to do to fix the coolant system, the ETC sensor won'd be enough?

To be completely honest with you mate i did nothing. The local dealer finally managed to replace enough parts to sort it on the 3rd time they had it. The longest wait was for the parts to arrive.
