Sound system?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Well I am finally placing an order, decided to go for a 1.8 TSI hatch L&K. Now I have read on here about the sound system. Only it's not on the options list in the UK. So

Whats the order code?

How do I convince the dealer to order it on a UK car?

What's it cost?

Hope someone can help.

I wanted to add sound system to my vRS but it was a no go. Cost wise I note the sound system upgrade on the Yeti is about £320. Another option not available to UK vRS buyers is electric folding mirrors. Again, got no joy in looking to have them fitted, even though they are standard in some other markets. Good luck in your quest!

If its not on the UK options list then I dont think you have a prayer.

Can someone tell me what the "sound system" option is? (even if it isn't a UK option!).

I looked in the Yeti brochure and couldn't see it there either...

Thanks

Neil

On my Scout that i ordered, it was just a "12 speaker" package, cost 350Euro, no other info was available on the sound.

On the Octavia it is 12 speakers instead of 8 and they are powered through an external amplifier which is under the passanger seat also the the speakers are of a higher quality. The extra 4 speakers are midrange units and are positioned half way up the doors. Try your hardest to add this option on, it is money well spent.

Hmmm from the responses so far this is not looking viable. I am getting a rather good deal so I can't see the dealer wanting to muck about on this. I thought if I could just give him a code and had an idea of the cost it would be easy... apparently not.

Sorry to say the 12 speaker option is not worth the money. We had it with the Symphony head and the sound is very non-Hi-Fi, The problem seems to be the tweeters - wrongly positioned (so only driver or passenger can get a central image) and wrongly balanced. There is a very long thread somewhere about how you can change the tweeters and/or the crossover, but life is too short....

But maybe they've improved matters lately?

I have the "Audience" head unit.

I have Sound sistem in my RS Octavia and works super. Sound is perfect.

The order code in our country is RA1, but option is only with Bolero unit -order code RAD.
