Front Bumper Removal

Featured Replies

Easy or not?

Oh and how do you do it? I have basic tools (lump hammer, crowbar, angle grinder etc)

You not fond of the pebble-dash look, anymore? :D

I reckon the angle grinder is the best way to go - I've seen one used at banger racing for all kinds of jobs - removal of dashboards and seats, and altering chassis, etc

I find hooking it over a low wall and reversing does a good job...

I think it's just bolted in underneath, I did watch the chap at Horners put it

back on and it didn't look all that hard...

Rob.

you could alway go about this way!

Look - you just know it'll be a piece of pi.. erm, cake to remove however you end up doing it.

When you come to put it back on you'll:

a) have forgotten where you put the tiny little screw/spring you notice drop off when you took the bumper off

B) get wet as it will invariably ran whilst you're trapped outside hunting for the above screw/spring

c) remove the skin from your knuckles, trying to "persuade" all the parts to fit back into place

d) wish you'd never started :)

Have you got on of those nova-boy bodykits you're looking to stick on then? :D

ok front bumper removal easy as follows a couple of torx screws underneath a couple of torx srews behind air vents left and right (and centre) two bolts each side ( have to remove bumper insert) and a few torx screws where wheel housing meets bumper hope this helps big k.

Thanks Big K.

Stimps, I need to remove it so that I can get at the existing intercooler and subsequently fit the front mount. I'll take plenty of piccies so that we'll have some instructions for anyone else wishing to fit a front mount.

:D

Dont tell me you are going to spray it anthracite while its of !!!

Can I call new life into this thread?

Jon, you evidently managed to remove the front bumber, and I believe Des too, so I would like to find out if it is really easy or a 2 week holiday job?

Do you require a jack at all? What sort of tools (big k mentions Torx, so I suppose a Torx screwdriver) are required? Can it be done as a one man job or do you require about 5 pairs of hands?

Is that with or without the sledgehammer? :D

And is that with the use of a bridge, 6 mates or a big Land Rover to pull it off? Tell me more! :D
