Another order balls-up - missing options

Featured Replies

The dealer just called to say that our Yeti is going through pre-delivery inspection and Skoda have "forgotten" to fit park assist

It's not possible to retro-fit at the dealer and it will be 16 to 20 weeks to get another car

Seems like the new computerised order system is still causing a lot of problems.

My wife is gutted - it's her car and now it's not as she wanted it to be. :'(

We need to meet the dealer next week to discuss the options. I asked them to check the system to see if there are any other Aqua Blue CR140 Elegances that have been built on spec?

If we take the car we will obviously not pay the £450 cost of the option, but I feel we should push for more - after all they have really let us down

What do you fellow Yeti-owners (Yeti-ists?) reckon?

They have messed up and you need a quick solution (which is not 16 weeks!) get Skoda UK involved - you want the next UK car to come down the production line to be yours this has to be the only fair solution. They must have the facility to make this happen but imo you will have to push hard. Start with the dealer principle and esculate to head of UK customer service on Tuesday morning if you are not getting the right answers. Good luck and don't take no for answer if all you paperwork and order details are correct.

I was lucky, I got park assist on my Ex Demo. It is so much more that a toy/gimmick. Ask and see if there a Yeti with park assist in UK stock. It may mean changing the colour choice, but a bit of compo will make you feel better ;)

Hi,

sorry to hear of your problems; same thing happened to me. Ordered mine in August 09 (the old system) but after build it was discovered she was missing the specified off-road function. Likewise very disappointed.

Dealer spoke to SUK who gave two options, take the Yeti as built but all options fitted would become free of charge (about a £400 saving) or re-order and they would try and fast track it (which I think they managed to do by a week or two).

Obviously the latter was the route I took but the Dealer was brilliant in that they were willing to renegotiate a better deal and price match the best price being advertised by the on-line brokers at that time (note; when I first ordered the on-line brokers were not even advertising the Yeti).

My second order arrived about 6 weeks after I should have taken delivery of the first, although bizarrely the week originally estimated for the first one to arrive.

Anyway I hope you can find a solution to this very unwanted situation; the best advice is to remain calm and try and get the dealer to work with you.

Regards,

TP
