My 04 octy vrs has got a fault with its lights, every now & again my dash lights & front & rear side lights go off,i can get them to come back on again by turning the light switch off & on again,i suspect the switch is faulty my local skoda dealer wants £72.82 + vat for one!!!!! :'( does any body know if a golf one will be the same? not alot of octys near me in scrap yards but a few golfs! the part number skoda gave me is 3BO941531C. thanks mike. p.s does anybody have a sechondhand one for sale?

You could try taking it apart and seeing if there's anything obviously loose / worn. They are quite complicated, though, so don't expect too much.

The Golf switches are, at very least cosmetically, different :(

I take it you know the trick to remove the switch from the dash?

Oh well never mind,i thought i may get lucky with the golf switch! im going to take it out tomorow at work & have a look but i doubt if it can be fixed! to remove it you make sure its in position 0 then push it in & turn to the right then pull switch out i believe?

Yup, that's it. Quite a few people just try to pull it straight out, with mixed results...
