There are a lot more toys on the Elegance.... Drivethedeal will do you a brand new one to that spec though for £19631 so try to beat them down on the price a bit or make sure they give you a good price if you're part ex-ing!

Hi all i can say is in the same position a few months ago I wanted the elegance once I drove it and I just decided what I wanted to pay and stood my guns and got it . Take a look on the skoda website for the used ones for sale get a idea of what they go for look on Ebay theres normally a couple there too and also look online buying prices I actually took a webpage I printed out with me to barter with and managed to save a grand in all.

Oh and check the road tax the dealers only tax them for six months , mine had expired so use that as another barter point and pay attention to any marks etc especially in front of the lower rear wheel arches they suffer with gravel rash there.

Good luck mate the elegance is fantastic a man walked over this morning as i was cleaning my monster and could not believe how speced mine was in his words "Wow i used to refer to these as skips now i want one"

Now that your tempted, If you dont you will always wish you had! :smirk:

One other thing to throw in the mix is that 140's built before WK45/09 (like mine :)) have some differences to the current standard as follows;

Tow limit at 1600Kg as stated in V5c (current model 2000Kg)

Maxidot does not indicate oil temp or advise on gear selection (these features are on current standard)

Fitted with 1st generation CR desiel engine (CBDB) (from Tiguan I think), current have newer 2nd gen (CFHC) (be aware some of the early CFHC engines have had water pump leaks; known issue believe now fixed on new production)

On the plus side they do have bigger rear brake discs (even then the 170 :giggle:)

TP

I priced up a new factory order Elegence spec through DtheD. Worked out like £19400 otr.

options, rough road package + spare steel wheel.

If you can wait., treat yourself and buy a new Yeti :thumbup:

I faced a similar choice a couple of months ago. A new Se 4x4 110 bhp v ex demo Elegance 4x4 140bhp. Pricing was quite similar but glad I went for the ex demo.

The extra bits on the Elegance were 'in my opinion' a better long term bet than the shorter term pleasure of a shiny new SE. It is worth considering the future second hand value of the two options. I reckon that an Elegance will be easier to sell on as well - the 'toys' will help then.

The leather seats, xenons and extra hp of the Elegance would also add a fair bit to a new SE.

Let us knoiw what you decide and how you get on.
