Am changing head gasket and Haynes manual say,s you can reuse the stretch bolts everyone else says no, steel on bolts is quite hard and considering it is a alloy block surely that has more chance of that stretching not the bolts plus bolts were not even torqued to 1st stage torque of 20 nm [tested before I removed them [4 off] ] so anybody with views or experience of this job .

1st, they're not stretch bolts, so you can reuse them.

2nd, it's quite possible to have stretch bolts with an alloy engine.

yup just reuse them.. the headbolts are not stretch
