Guys

I'm off the France / Belgium soon and in preperation have performed the adjustment to the internal shutter on the light units which flattens the beam. My concern is that I cannot find any defacto documentation from Skoda which i could reference in the event that one of the cheese eating surrender monkeys with guns stops me for not having beam deflectors on the vehicle!

Is the adjustment absolutely, 100% legal on the continent and if so, does anybody have any supporting documentation?

Any ideas?

You should be fine as long as the beam does not dazzle. I have driven many 000's of miles in France and spain with no problems at all, having only flat beamed the headlights.

If you've got factory xenons and maxidot, you can flatten the beam from there.

Hmm I have a Dec 08 L&K (ie just before the FL) with factory xenons and maxidot but no can do from there. Can this be done with VCDS?

All it does is flatten the beam, not redirect it the other way. It's in the setup menu on the maxidot, and is either travel mode or tourist mode
