I have a Mk 2 hatchback and bought Thule aero roof rack bars and feet. I have now bought an estate and know I need to buy a new set of feet/clamps to fit it to the roof bars on the estate. However, does anyone know if the Thule aero bars I currently have will fit on the estate. The reason I ask is that my bars are 127cm (as stated when selecting Octavia hatch) but Thule say you need 120cm bars with the estate. There is some adjustment on the bars so wondering if anyone has done this and can confirm there is enough adjustment to make it work.

As an aside I used the same bars (with different foot pack) on my wifes Honda Civic even though Thule said that it needed different ones.

Can't answer your specific question, but if the current bars are too long then you can always cut a piece off the end (or rather with slotted aero bars, an equally sized piece off both ends...).

The adjustment slot on the underside may not give enough adjustment.... but it is nothing a drill and a file cannot solve.

Thanks for the replies. I think I may buy the clamp pack and give it a go. Then if I can not get them to fit I can buy a new set of bars.

before you start chopping, I have just upgraded from a Mk1 to a 55 plate, Mk 2 and need a new set......

How much would you be looking to sell for ?
