parked up in a customers carpark today right next to a Silver Bora TDi Sport and was really surprised at how close the lines of the car were!! I know I should have taken a pic but I didn't so there :p no doubt that the doors are higher on the bora but the front end looked like it would transplant OK (not that I want to - just an observation) and not look too different. I did wonder seriously though about the boot spoiler :D

I have seen a few Boras around my way that have been modded, lowered and nice wheels, and surprising how the octy and Bora look close.

I never thought of owning a Bora but they seem more appealing these days. No point going from a Octy to a Bora though. Maybe if I purchaed one before the Octy and made a 1.8t into a VRS/S3/R32 Spec motor would be nice or even a 4motion into a R32 motor. Not many done

I notice a few more in the VW performance mags these days too and a few Passats making headlines

they seem to have been really popular in the US as a Jetta and loads of really nice looking ones too. I quite fancy the new 2.5 audi 5 cylinder Turbo that is in the TT Audi gone back to the best tye of engine again

I did see a 2.7 BiTurbo Passat for sale the other day but looked a bit tatty.

Boot on an Octy is bigger and more practical thanks to the hatch. Still miss my Bora though, it had a few nice toys that are missing from the Octavia, like auto wipers and a self dimming rear view mirror.

Plenty of modified Boras near me, guy round the corner has a 2 litre petrol one lowered and on massive Merc alloys. I like the TDI ones (red D and I... I think that's 130bhp?) with the boot spoiler, would have been quite happy with one instead of the VRS as it would've been a good balance between performance and economy but at the time I was looking to change cars the 2nd hand Boras were still about a grand more expensive than 2nd hand Skodas.

A guy on a local car forum here is building a turbo'd R32 engine 4WD Jetta (Bora) Coupe.

Can't wait to see how it turn out!

All parts starting with 1J0 all swap over and share

1U0 , tend to be body or dash parts are specific

Same as Fabia , Ibiza and Polo
