The main thing it is on superb OEM radio I have passenger airbag light warning indicator and I just simply disconnected him as no other option to remove the radio

And later I needed quick trip to the shop so did not connect radio back because it was quick trip …..

And when I drive on the dash airbag light indicator comes on.

So I think what’s wrong?? So I decided to check maybe radio has something in that as did not done any other job at all just radio disconnection.

So I plug back but airbag light on the dash stays on.

So I start search on the web what’s can be and found The can bus system in the car check everything so I mean if passenger airbag warning light bulb was not found or dead the computer understand as mistake or error and when I turned engine it is became error and he put on the dash airbag warning indication.

So smart car in these days everything is controlled via can bus magistrate and any problems is recorder on main ECU.

So in future I will bay VAG CAN cables (as any problems on the car first goes on ECU and if you have error code it easy to repair), but did not want to have them now as want original cables not from eBay so they will be costing as more as 300 Pounds.

In Generally the CAN is good thing but why it is always so problematic everything like connection.

Why in these days we don’t have normal USB connector and OEM soft where car USER can check car status like any error codes or else ….

Now by the cables pay and pay and pay ….

ANY HELP TO RESET THE ARBAG LIGHT INDICATOR PLEASE PLEASE

MAYBE SOMEONE WITH VAG CAN CABLES IN EAST SUSSEX SO WE CAN DEAL NOT FOR FREE PLEASE

VAG_COM could help you, but i would disconnect battery 1st. I once replaced all six plugs in my Lexus ,but turned engine over without them in and engine warning light came on. Left battery disconnected 4 half hour put plugs back in and it started and light went out. Did you turn ignition on when airbag disconnected ,Check also it is firmly <wire> in place. Can be remedied, seems like the end of the world?

A vag- com guy near me only charged me £20 to fettle my car:thumbup:

A quick auto scan and clearing of fault codes with VCDS (Vag-com) should clear the light TBH. I did the exact same thing for Pastboy after he had inadvertantly disconected his passenger airbag removing leaves from the fan motor

Shouldn't be anything serious

Mate had the airbag light come on on mine . Bought a vag com for £65.00 from ebay cleared the light . Did keep coming back on a day ot two after clearing the code . Understood that the Octavia's have problems with airbag wiring under seat .

I unbolted the seats fiddled with the wiring . Reset the light and 3 months later light still has not come back on .

If you are near to Crewe area I will reset you the light .
