Just changed the battery after all this cold weather on 30th of January. Since then engine light and airbag light are permanently on.

I took it to the local garage at the time and they said they couldn't read the fault engine light. Since then the airbag light started. Any suggestions?

You need to take it to a garage that can read the codes, then you can take it from there.

Thanx Julie. I will tomorrow morning. But what if they can't erase the fault? Does it mean anything serious?

The engine management and airbag lights should only come on if there is a fault. Geting the fault codes read will tell you what the faults are - some are cheaper to fix than others, but no point worrying about it until you do get the faults read.
