this is the Kananaskis region of southern Alberta. Took a hike up to Chester Lake which is a bout a 10k round trip, all shots taken on our FujiJ150w 10mp.

opens into alpine meadows at the top, we weren't able to carry on much further than this due to there being about 4 feet of snow underfoot. must pack the snowshoes next time!

talking to a guy back at the car park, turns out where we turned back was only about 200 metres from the lake which has a fantastic frozen waterfall at one corner :doh:

didn't fancy a 5k trek with a twisted ankle or a popped knee so we chickened out :giggle:

it was only about 13 deg up there but in the sun was very warm, got a nice tan on the arms and face :thumbup:
