Gear Shift Bracket Bushings

Featured Replies

I read about these on the Vortex and thought I'd give them a go.

They're a solid CNC machined aluminium bush to replace the stock rubber ones on the gear shift bracket.

New on the left, old on the right:

They go here (looking down from the right-hand side of the engine bay, under the airbox:

10 minutes with a 13mm socket and:

I was somewhat sceptical about whether they'd made any difference but for $24 US delivered I thought I'd give them a go.

And guess what? They DO make a difference! My gear change is more precise feeling and that notchy-ness I had in second has gone.

Definitely worth a go!

$22 US for aluminium, $24 US for anodised including delivery.

You have to email them for Paypal details for international delivery but they respond quickly and delivery was only a few days.

I've done a bit more driving - and I think you should all fit these immediately!

Haha immediately! That good then Rob?

I was thinking a bunch of stainless washers would probably do the same job.

Dam u Rob

might want to sneak the fact that the gearknob vibrates more past her as well :D

(ducks for cover :D)

Rob, is it $24 for the set of four pieces (to make two bushes) or was it $24 per bush ($48 for the pair)?

I haven't noticed any more vibrations - maybe I'll get SWMBO to check :D

$24 for all three bushings - 6 pieces in total.

How much play was there in the old bushings?

I guess what I'm asking is if you think it is down to the aluminium bushes or is down to the fact you've replaced worn bushes.
