Skoda Octavia II ECU Failure

Featured Replies

Hi there all.

Just got back from D M Kieth's in Bradford having been told that I might need a new ECU for my 2006 Skoda Octavia II VRS. Total Cost £1657.01.

Got the usual spiel from them that they have connected the diagnostic unit (£66.95) and found a fault with the ECU but no other information available as to what's wrong. They reset the fault and it didn't return so I might be ok. Sure enough as soon as I turned the ignition on, the EPC fault returned followed shortly by the Control System for exhaust warning light

Before I go and slit my thoroat I'm hoping someone can maybe give me a second opinion.

The car appears to be driving perfectly normal done 36,000 miles

:(

What was the fault code?

According to the Ross Tech Wiki that code has nothing to do with the ECU.

If you'd like to PM me with your chassis number I can check this out for you, but simply put, you do not need an ECU.

Yeh. It doesn't sound right to me. I think I'll go back to Skoda and see whats going on.
